Sartell Valves, Inc. Provides Essential Valves for NYC Water Supply System (12/28/2007)

Sartell Valves & Controls is proud to be working with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC-DEP) and SKANSKA USA on the Croton Water Filtration Plant in New York.

Though many of the city's water systems have been upgraded in recent years, the Croton Project is the first completely new water treatment plant in years. The plant, with a capacity to treat 1.2 million cubic meters of water per day (320 MGD), is located at the Mosholu golf course in the Bronx.

New York City's water supply comes from several fresh water sources, one of which is the Croton Water System, which lies north of the city.

Sartell Valves, Inc. has had tremendous success working with NYC-DEP, and has come to be regarded as a preferred vendor for its extensive municipal projects. For the Croton Project, many valves were used, but the AWWA Butterfly Valves (BAW) and Eccentric Plug Valve (PEC) will be the most heavily utilized.
